Many Thanks!
I wish to thank all my students of the practical osteopathy technique
classes in Toronto for this wonderful gift. It is much appreciated. Any
time I wear this tie, I will be thinking of you!
I am humbled and honored to see some of you traveled from such far places as Cyprus, France and UK to be here to learn osteopathy with me.
And I wish to thank Canada for being such a great host country that provides such environment that Russian, French, English, Mexican, Egyptian, Iranian, American & Peruvian can get together to study osteopathy.

The Art of Reading Manual Osteopathy; a Poem
A beautiful poem by a National Academy of Osteopathy student; Dr Chris Vincent, MBBS:
The Art of Reading Manual Osteopathy
A Poem
All book covers can create
the borders of a country
as chapters become cities
with titles as their names.
The pages are the warriors
embellished in suits of armour
designed with the chain-mail
of single words and sentences.
Hold a book in your hands,
then close your eyes and feel
the weight of ideas and thoughts.
Open the book to spread the wings.
Like a regal eagle flying upward
in the sky of ideas and creativity
to reach the snow capped peaks
of the mountains of knowledge.
Information, history, fiction,
biography, drama and Science
are magnificent hues painted
on the resplendent dawn
of the incredible human mind,
as viewed from the peak.
Punctuations become the echelon
of noisy birds tearing the mind,
away from a fixed viewpoint
towards the direction of relevance.
Pictures, diagrams and art
along with graphs and photos
warn us about the cougars, lions,
panthers and jaguars crouching
by the caves, hiding behind rocks
and prowling at the foothills
to test the beliefs, superstitions,
fears and the unbreakable resolve
of the powerful human spirit.
The four principles of osteopathy
become the four cardinal winds
blowing from all four directions
turning the pages of curiosity
to vindicate the inquiring mind.
The pen that wrote the premise
and the brush that painted the art,
prove that human bodies are like
many different kinds of books
that tell different kinds of stories
but fundamentally very similar.
Manual Osteopathic Practice,
addresses the patient’s concern
cover to cover, in a combination
of methodical chapter reads,
selective topic reads, summary
and also in its entirety,
to understand and heal the body
while standing on the shoulders
of giants: the spoken word, written
notes, audio books, paperbacks,
hard cover textbooks and Braille.

NAO Sponsors Syrian Refugees
Osteopathy College & University Sponsor Syrian Refugees
Honorable Dr Reza Moridi, PhD, the minister of training, colleges & universities of Ontario invited us to sponsor a charity event to raise money to help Syrian refugees.
Dr Shawn Pourgol, MBA, DC, DO, PhD, president of National Academy of Osteopathy (Canada) accepted this invitation and we became a sponsor of this event, which was held yesterday in Richmond Hill, Canada.
Dr Pourgol had a chance to speak with a number of distinguished guests including honorable Dr John McCallum, the minister of immigration, refugees & citizenship Canada, honorable Adrienne Clarkson the 26th Governor General of Canada, & honorable Dr Reza Moridi.
We at NAO believe strongly in charitable giving to those less fortunate. Dr Pourgol in his business lectures recommends to students to give 10% of their annual net profit to charities.
Our graduates are blessed with a high income career ( average income of manual osteopaths is $90,000 per year). As such they are recommended to give back to those less fortunate as a way of giving their thanks for being blessed with a rewarding health career.
If you wish to inquire how to become a manual osteopath, feel free to email us at admissions@nationalacademyofosteopathy.com.
We offer diploma programs in osteopathy, through online or on-campus programs in 54 countries.
Thank you.

To receive our information package on how you can become a manual osteopath send us an email to admissions@nationalacademyofosteopathy.com. The program is open to anyone with a high school diploma (prior college or university education not required).
NAO offers the only full time year long (Mondays to Fridays) osteopathy program in Canada. However there are other schools of osteopathy that also offer excellent education on a part time basis which takes 3 to 5 years toi be completed (one weekend a month for 6 months per year). The total teaching hours of all the accredited Canadian schools of osteopathy are similar).
Become a manual osteopath to secure your future.

Why Osteopathic Osteoarticular Techniques are so effective?
Osteopathic spinal osteoarticular techniques are proven through scientific research to cause neurophysiological effects resulting in hypoalgesia (local and/or distal), sympathoexcitation, reduction in spinal stiffness, heterogeneous in location and timing, and improved muscle function.
These techniques also produce increased nociceptive flexion reflex threshold, improved posture, decreased concentration of substance P, and improved sway index.
The evidence for effectiveness of osteopathic osteoarticular techniques suggests involvement of an endogenous pain inhibition system mediated by the central nervous system.

Wow! What a Great Osteopathy Intern!
Wow! We have such great interns!
Nicholas Zancai, a National Academy of Osteopathy intern (class of Feb 2015) treated two patients today at NAO student clinic in Toronto. One patient was so impressed with his treatment that she plans to continue her treatments with him even after he graduates.
And the second patient was so impressed with osteopathy that she visited NAO registrar Ms. Rachel Ligon to get information on how to become a manual osteopath!
Nick did not have prior health education at the time he enrolled at NAO. You do not need prior health education to become a great manual osteopath. Nick is a great example of this.
Thank you Nick. You made us so proud.
