The WorkBC Program Accepts National Academy of Osteopathy

The WorkBC program in British Columbia (Canada) may now cover the full tuition for students to study manual osteopathy at the York University Heights campus of National Academy of Osteopathy in Toronto if they are found eligible. 

This is a great accomplishment for the manual osteopathic profession in Canada.

Manual osteopathy is a great healthcare profession in high demand across Canada. Currently 3,500 manual osteopaths are needed in Canada. In BC there is a sever shortage of manual osteopaths and most do not accept new patients as they are completely booked. Depending on your background, it would take 6 months to a year to obtain a Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice from NAO.

Average income of manual osteopaths is $90,000. CIBC considers manual osteopathy as one of the top 25 occupations in demand in Canada. A 2012 report indicates that it is the number one choice of Canadians for low back pain relief as compared to chiropractic, massage therapy, physiotherapy and medical care. 

National Academy of Osteopathy is fully accredited by CMOE, IOA, COMPO, OOAMA, CMOEB, IOEB, OCORS and other organization. We are the largest provider of manual osteopathic education worldwide, teaching in 45 countries.

2015 Tuition Increase

Starting September 28th, 2014 National Academy of Osteopathy tuition will be increased by 10% for the March 2015 classes. The program length is also increasing by two months.

Manual Osteopathy in Canada

DOMP Program Length Change

Starting March 2015, the length of the Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice (DOMP) program of National Academy of Osteopathy will increase. 

For the students without previous health background it will increase to one year instead of the current 8 months full time. The 20 months part time in this category will increase to 24 months (for both online as well as the in-campus classes).

For those students with previous health education, the full time DOMP program (both the online as well as campus based) will increase to 6 months instead of the current 4 months. Part time would take one year instead of the current 9 months.

Class Start Date Changes

The class start date of National Academy of Osteopathy has been changed from September 28^th and February 28^th of each year to September 03^rd and March 03^rd. This change comes into effect in 2015.
