Canadian Osteopathy Education

There are currently a number of schools of osteopathy in Canada offering educational programs in European style osteopathy (aka manual osteopathy, no surgery, no medications).

There is only one school offering osteopathy programs in Canada on full time basis. National Academy of Osteopathy offers a 12 months (260 days) full time diploma in osteopathic manual practice (DOMP) program through online as well as on-campus program.

There is no other 3, 4 or 5 years full time osteopathy program in Canada. All other osteopathic colleges offer programs that are part time but take 3, 4 or 5 years to be completed.

For example the number of teaching days of the 4 and 5 years part time osteopathy programs offered by some colleges in Ontario is approximately 200 days. Another college that offers a 3 year program in osteopathy has total teaching days of only 36 days.

NAO Canada offers the longest, most detailed osteopathy programs in Canada (2,200 hours). NAO also teaches most techniques than any other school in Canada.

To receive our information package on how you can become a manual osteopath send an email to admissions@nationalacademyofosteopathy.com.

Nicholas Zankai, Our New Faculty

Our New Faculty Member

We are happy to announce that Nicholas Zancai has been offered an osteopathic techniques teaching assistant position with our school (pending graduation).

Nick is a student of National Academy of Osteopathy, set to graduate this month. He has been an outstanding student, with superb clinical skills. During his internship, we received many referrals to our student clinic by his patients. One patient is even considering applying for our osteopathy program after being treated by Nick.

We were so impressed by his clinical skills and ethics at our student clinic that we offered a teaching assistant position to him. He will work as assistant in Dr Pourgol’s technique classes.

We welcome Nick to our faculty and wish him success in his new career, set to start March 03, 2016.
