Why NAO is so popular?
Why National Academy of Osteopathy is so popular?
The main reason we became so popular & the largest
manual osteopathic college in the world is that we graduate successful manual
osteopaths.
While NAO teaches more techniques than any other college (we
teach 3 techniques per day) the reason for our graduates success is that we train
them on all aspects of clinic management including marketing, advertising,
public relations, accounting, tax planning, wealth creation, asset protection,
goals setting, & improving creativity.
Our graduates learn how to attract new patients and retain the current ones. They learn how to help their patients utilize more of their services. Our “setting up a million dollar practice” lectures are legendary.

Massage Therapist Doubles Income by Becoming Manual Osteopath
Registered massage therapist & manual osteopath Angele Boyle,
doubled her income within a year after graduating from National Academy
of Osteopathy. Patients now have to wait for weeks to get an appointment
with her.
Here is the testimonial she gave us:
………. I have been very busy this past year growing my business, lately being booked weeks in advance. The osteopathy component to my practice is definitely what has stimulated the growth in past year, almost doubling my income in one year! This happened without advertising, simply by word of mouth client referrals……………

A Poem by Dr Pourgol: TO MY OSTEOPATH
We are glad to announce that for the first time since 94 years ago another osteopathy related poem has been published, this time by National Academy of Osteopathy president, manual osteopath, Dr Shahin Pourgol. The poem is called "To My Osteopath" and was written on November 21, 2014.
In the history of osteopathy in the past 137 years there were only two osteopathy poems ever published, the first in the USA in 1920 and the second one yesterday in Canada.
Here is the osteopathy poem:

Here is the osteopathy poem:
To My Osteopath:
I want to tell you something
Which you must have heard before
Your hands, your techniques, what you do
The kind of healing you do
Makes your patients to thank you
How you deal with chronic pain
How you eliminate acute pain
Osteopathy is a miracle, day in day out
May you receive all wishes in life
May you achieve all dream you have
My best wishes are with you
My healer, my osteopath

Manual Osteopathy Research on Pulmonary Diseases
Did you know research has shown osteopathic manual treatment
(OMT) to be effective in improving lung function after surgery, that OMT helps
treat pneumonia, decreases antibiotic use, respiratory failure & therefore decreases
death, that it improves breathing in asthma patients, that it prevents lung
infection, and that it improves lung function in patients with chronic
obstructive pulmonary disease?
Below you find a list of scientific research demonstrating
effectiveness of manual osteopathy on lung diseases.
Sleszynski SL & Kelso AF (JAOA, 1993) showed that OMT is
as effective as or better than incentive spirometry (deep-breathing exercises)
to improve lung function after surgery.
Noll DR et al (JAOA, 1999; JAOA, 2000; Altern Ther Health
Med, 2004; JAOA 2008 and Osteopath Med Prim Care, 2010) proved through a series
of studies that OMT helps treat pneumonia. OMT decreases antibiotic use, length
of stay in the hospital, respiratory failure and death. OMT can also alter lung
function in COPD.
Bockenhauer SE et al (JAOA, 2002) showed improved breathing
in asthma patients who received OMT.
Guiney PA et al (JAOA, 2005) performed a randomized
controlled trial that demonstrated OMT improves breathing in children with
asthma.
Henderson AT et al (JAOA, 2010) showed that treating ribs
with OMT altered intensity of the nervous input to the lungs.
Saggio G et al (JAOA, 2011) used OMT to increase IgA levels,
potentially helping prevent upper respiratory infections.
Zanotti E et al (Complement Ther Med, 2012) used OMT and a
pulmonary rehabilitation program to improve exercise capacity and lung function
in patients with COPD.
